CUCET 2021, DU Admission 2021: Preparation for the Common Entrance Test for all Central Universities is still incomplete. In such a situation, Delhi University Computer Center (DUCC) officials said that if the admission starts from the entrance test from this year, then their team will take two to three months to develop a new portal of admission. This year also the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 examinations are being delayed due to the second wave of the Corona epidemic. Not only this, but board examinations of other states are also getting delayed due to Corona. DU is waiting for the decision to be taken by the Union Ministry of Education on the Common Entrance Test. It also depends on how the result of class 12th is prepared this year. DUCC Joint Director Sanjeev Singh told Hindustan Times, “We can’t develop any portal or test right now because we don’t know anything about what kind of functions will be needed.”

He said that apart from the uncertainty created on the examinations, 2 people in the five-member team developing the portal are still recovering from Corona disease. When the team members recover from Corona and return to work, then it will take 8 to 12 weeks to prepare the administrative portal for admission. Last year, the education ministry had constituted a committee to look into the formalities of the Common Entrance Test for admission to graduate courses in all central universities. The initiative was taken by the government under the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020).

Central University Joint Entrance Examination (CUCET) committee member and Vice-Chancellor PC Joshi said that if the 12th class board examination is not conducted, then the test will be necessary. Because on the basis of the marks of class 12, DU is admitted every year. If 12th exams are not held then CUCET will be necessary to organize, so that the quality of education is not compromised.
