Eight Districts Issued Yellow Alert Today

Today, a yellow alert has been issued in eight districts of the state, with a rain warning extending from Kollam to Idukki and from Kozhikode to Wayanad districts. Tomorrow, these eight districts are again under a yellow alert, with the potential for heavy rain in isolated areas.The rainfall is expected in the afternoon and may be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds. Special precautions have been advised for coastal areas due to the possibility of high waves. It’s important to note that there are no fishing restrictions along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep.

In Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Kannur districts, there may be light to moderate rain at isolated locations, with a chance of strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km per hour. Heavy rain is defined as rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within a 24-hour period.
