Puzhikkadakan is a Malayalam comedy-drama movie, directed by Gireesh Nair. The movie stars Jayasurya and Chemban Vinod Jose in the lead roles. Chemban Vinod Jose after his vibrant performance in Jallikettu makes a quick transformation to a military man Samuel, who is a complete family man in the film Puzhikadakan that extends to two hours three minutes.

Samuel visits his hometown, while he is on leave from the military service. The family man gets engaged in some social issues in his hometown regarding quarry mafia. Chemban efficiently depicts the caring husband of Anna played by Dhanya. But what is in store for the audience is yet to be seen. Actors Alencier Lopez and Balu Varghese tries to strike a chord with a spill of comedy. That said the first half tends to lag a bit.

What attracted them to this film is its socially relevant subject. The poor condition of our roads, which is a much-discussed issue today, is the subject of this movie. The relevance of the plot made the producers say a firm yes to the movie, as Evaab’s aim has been to bring out quality movies with relatable subjects, twice a year. The film’s director Girish Nair has presented the problem in a realistic manner on screen. Many identify with the characters in this film, for this reason. The performances of the cast, including Chemban Vinod and Jayasurya, has further boosted the film’s impact. The reception received by the movie in theatres encourages Evaab to make more quality films and encourage talented scriptwriters.
