Ranjit Sankar is back with a new thriller, Kamala. Written and directed by himself, Kamala is subtlety political and edgy in equal measures. In spite of being a thriller, Kamala isn’t a fast-paced film. However, keeping the suspense alive, it makes you take a second look at each character and situation in the movie. Aju Varghese is in the path to reinvent himself. It almost feels awkward seeing him not crack a single joke. However, Aju holds his own. Ruhani Sharma plays the titular character Kamala. She speaks fluent Malayalam, however, the lip-sync of the dialogues is a sorry distraction.
