With Ajith’s ‘Thunivu‘ debuting during Pongal and becoming a smash, fans are eagerly awaiting the star actor’s next flick. While it was revealed earlier this year that filmmaker Vignesh Shivan would helm Ajith Kumar’s ‘AK62,’ which was supposed to begin production shortly, there are reports circulating that Vignesh Shivan is no longer attached to the project and that either director Atlee or Vishnuvardhan may take over.

Meanwhile, actor Ajith had just gone to London, and photos of the ‘Thunivu’ star from the airport have been making the rounds on social media in recent days. Now, it appears that filmmaker Vignesh Shivan has also visited London, as he has released a short video from Canary Wharf, London on his social networking website. It appears that Vignesh Shivan will direct Ajith Kumar’s ‘AK62’ after all. With so much conjecture on social media about ‘AK62,’ it appears that we will have to wait for an official confirmation.Vignesh-Shivan-Story

We previously announced that the film’s production will commence in Mumbai during the first week of February. The film’s production is scheduled to last 35-40 days. Anirudh, who has previously composed music for the actor, such as ‘Aaluma Doluma’ and ‘Surviva,’ will write the soundtrack for the film.

AK 62 will be the most expensive project in Ajith Kumar’s career thus far. The producers are thought to be in talks with a top Hollywood stunt choreographer to develop the film’s action sequences. The film, which is billed as an action thriller, will also feature an intriguing romantic plot and a dash of humor. The female leads of AK 62, which is touted to be a two-heroine film, are Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Trisha Krishnan. Arvind Swamy will play the project’s main antagonist. Santhanam and Arjun Das will play key parts.
