Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to pay salaries of newly appointed teachers in primary and upper primary schools of Basic Education Department on time. He said that the verification of documents of newly appointed teachers should be completed soon. Instructions have also been given to take action against the officials concerned for the delay in verification.
To meet the shortage of teachers in the state, the Yogi government had recruited 69 thousand teachers in the Basic Education Department last year. They have been posted in more than 1.5 lakh council schools in the state. Due to the verification of the documents, there is a problem in getting the salary of the teachers. However, from the Basic Education Department, about 60 percent of the newly appointed teachers are being paid their documents after completing the verification work. The teachers’ organizations had made a demand to the Chief Minister to give salary to the remaining teachers.
