Vijay Deverakonda’s mother kept a Pooja before the release of Liger

Co-stars Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday performed prayers at Vijay Deverakonda’s Hyderabad home before the movie’s release this month. These two can be seen with their hands folded and shawls draped across their shoulders in the sneak peeks from the puja.

Sharing some photos from the pooja on Twitter, VD wrote, “This whole month touring across India and receiving so much love already felt like God’s blessing! But Mummy feels we needed his protection :)So Poooja and sacred Bands for all of us…Now she will sleep in peace while we continue our tour.” Also, Ananya Panday penned a small note on Instagram, “Blessings from Vijay’s amma @deverakonda and a pooja at his home in Hyderabad for #Liger #Thankful #Grateful #Blessed thank you auntyyyyy.”

As you are aware, Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday have been touring the nation for promoting Liger. He was recently questioned about Liger’s relationship to Puri Jagannadh’s 2003 movie Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi during a media event in Hyderabad. He reacted, “It’s nothing about Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi and it’s not related to it too. In Liger, we are doing MMA, which is very much from boxing and the entire drama. The son and mother bond and the sentiment is very important in Liger and other than that there is no similarity with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. I’m a fan of that movie and I really liked it, it’s my favourite. Also, I’m not somebody who will do remakes, so Liger is not related to Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi. When you watch the movie you will understand.”
