The 2006 film Thalainagaram, starring actor and director Sundar C, has recently made headlines for two different reasons. The recently released film Naai Sekar Returns starring Vadivelu was a spin-off of the Suraj-directed original. A while back, it was announced that Dhorai VZ would be in charge of the first movie’s sequel.
The horror film Iruttu, which was released in 2019, was the first collaboration between Dhorai and Sundar. The shooting for Thalainagaram 2 was completed a while ago, and the teaser has just been released. In the two-minute teaser, Sundar C’s character, a gangster who makes a comeback as a murderous, violent guy who faces off against a few enemies, is shown. The grisly images in the teaser give away the nature of the hero in the sequel’s second act.
The second installment’s cast, however, appears to have undergone some changes by the producers. This time, Pallak Lalwani plays the female lead. The female protagonist of the first part was Jyothirmayi. For the first part, Imman was the music director. Ghibran has been brought on board to compose music for Thalainagaram 2
The project is being funded by SM Prabakaran and Dhorai through Right Eye Theatres. In the movie, which features editing by R Sudharsan and cinematography by E Krishnasamy, important roles will be played by Thambi Ramaiah, Prabhakar, Aayira, and Jaise Jose among others.
For Thalainagaram, Maniji wrote the dialogue, and Don Ashok choreographed the action sequences. The film is expected to be released in theatres in 2023. Pattampoochi was Sundar C’s most recent acting performance; he has Vallaan and One 2 One in his pipeline. His last directorial Coffee With Kadhal started streaming on Zee5 a week ago.
