Rishab Shetty will be paid double for Kantara 2

Kantara 2 would be a prequel rather than a sequel, according to the most recent Kantara and Rishab Shetty news. In an interview, Hombale Films founder Vijay Kirgandur disclosed that Rishab Shetty has already begun work on the film.

Kantara 2 is a prequel that will examine the people’, the deity’s, and the unhappy king’s relationship. The monarch had formed a covenant with the deity to safeguard the residents and the surrounding countryside, but things did not go as planned. The film’s central conflict is a war between man and nature.

Vijay was quoted as stating, “He plans to start shooting in June, as a portion of the shoot requires the rainy season, and our intention is to give the film a pan-India release in April or May next year.” Rishab Shetty is currently on a two-month reconnaissance trip to the jungles of Karnataka’s coastal region to learn more about the folklore included in his film Kantara.

The budget for Kantara 2 has been doubled, but the film’s style, narrative, and cinematography will be identical to Kantara in order to maintain continuity and authenticity. More cast members are anticipated to be added, and they may be major names.

The cast members are also expected to be paid more than in the previous picture. Rishab Shetty was rumored to have been paid Rs 4 crore for the first film, but the sequel is expected to pay him twice as much. Kantara was made on a Rs 16 crore budget and garnered around Rs 400 crore at the global box office. The global popularity of this film astounded both Rishab Shetty and the producer, Hombale Films.

Kantara was first released in Kannada, then after its success, it was also released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu. This is an action-thriller based on Karnataka mythology, written and directed by Rishab Shetty himself.
