Change in rain warning in the state. According to the latest weather warning, yellow alert has been announced in the districts from Idukki to Thiruvananthapuram. The Meteorological Center has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in isolated places. Yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Idukki districts.
A low pressure area is located over southeast Jharkhand. A cyclone also exists off the coast of Comorin. As a result of their influence, the state receives heavy rains.The District Collector has informed that the shutters one to four of Neyyar Dam will be raised by 20cm each (total 80cm) at 03:00 pm today (September – 22) and the residents should be cautious. The notification was issued at 1.30 pm today.
