Veteran Malayalam playback singer P Jayachandran sacks the J C Daniel award for 2020 for immense and praiseworthy contributions to the Malayalam film music industry given by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. P Jayachandran will receive a citation and a plaque along with a cash amount of Rs 5 Lakh and the award will be given by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on December 23 the function which is organized to be held at the Secretariat Durbar Hall. The playback vocalist P Jayachandran is the 28th individual to fetch the J C Daniel award which is supposed to be the most elevated film award in Kerala. Entertainer Manoj K Jayan took to his Instagram handle and posted an image with P Jayachandran liking his success.
P Jayachandran, having made his introduction in the Malayalam entertainment world with the song ‘Oru Mullappoomalayumay’ which was created by P Bhaskaran, has given his voice for above 15,000 tunes and he is affectionately known as ‘Bhava Gayakan’ among the Malayali crowd. The last time P Jayachandran packed away the public award for the best artist was in the year 1986 and he was regarded with the state award multiple times. Award-winning director Adoor Gopalakrishnan helms the chairman position of the award jury committee and the passing judgment on board comprised of the acclaimed director Renji Panicker, actress Seema, Chalachitra Academy director Kamal, Principal secretary (Culture area) Rani George, and many more. Last year the J C Daniel award was given to playback singer Hariharan.
