NEET UG 2024 Live Updates: The Supreme Court will hear three petitions today seeking cancellation and re-conduct of the exam due to alleged irregularities in the NEET exam and result. The petitions have demanded that there have been irregularities in giving grace marks, so the NEET UG exam should be conducted again. The petitioners challenging the NEET result have also demanded a stay on counselling. The vacation bench of Justice Vikram Seth and Sandeep Mehta may hear the matter at 10.30 am today. One of the three petitions has been filed by Alakh Pandey, CEO of Physics Wala. He has claimed that NTA’s decision to give grace marks is arbitrary. NTA suddenly quietly released the result with grace marks without informing the students. No prior information was given about this. According to reports, Pandey has received complaints from about 20,000 students, showing that about 1500 students have grace marks ranging from 70 to 80. The second petition has been filed by SIO members Abdullah Mohammad Faiz and Dr Sheikh Roshan Mohiuddin, seeking the withdrawal of NEET UG 2024 results and conducting a fresh exam.

The petitioners accused NTA of arbitrariness in giving grace marks, stating that it is impossible to get 718 and 719 marks out of 720. NTA has been accused of trying to give admission to some students through the backdoor by giving grace marks to make up for time loss. The petitioners doubt that there can be 6 toppers from one centre. The petition has also demanded a ban on NEET counselling till the investigation of the paper leak is completed. There has also been a demand to form an SIT in this regard.

The third petition has been filed by NEET aspirant Jaripati Karthik, challenging the awarding grace marks as compensation for time lost during the exam.
