MS Dhoni To Continue Leading Chennai Super Kings In Upcoming IPL

In a recent appearance at a promotional event in Bengaluru, MS Dhoni has affirmed his intention to lead the Chennai Super Kings in the forthcoming IPL season. He clarified that his retirement is limited to international cricket, and he expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support from Chennai Super Kings fans. Dhoni, who valiantly captained the team to their fifth IPL title in the previous season despite battling a knee injury, shared his perspective “Given the circumstances, now is the right time to retire. And that is the easiest thing. But when I see the love given to me by the Chennai Super Kings fans, the best gift I can give is to play for them for more seasons.” Notably, Dhoni’s commitment to the team led to a thrilling victory over the Gujarat Titans in the last IPL final, where he often batted in the seventh position due to his injury.

Following his surgery for the knee injury and Chennai’s triumph in the last IPL, the 42-year-old cricketer had expressed concerns about his ability to participate in the next season. However, he reassured fans with recent statements, stating that his knee injury will be fully healed by November and that he is currently free of pain.Dhoni also shared a personal philosophy, saying, “In my career, I never tried to become a great cricketer; I always tried to be a good human being, and that is something I should continue until the end of my life.”
