The film is said to be the biggest hit in the history of Malayalam cinema. According to a report , the Malayalam film has earned Rs 374 crore from the Indian box office. That is, close to 50 percent of the total collection of Malayalam cinema comes from abroad. It is clear that Malayalam has a huge potential for theatrical release. It is also significant that after many years of Vishu releases, the film has already earned Rs 77 crore in five days at the global box office.
