Directed by Om Raut, Adipurush had a successful opening day both in India and internationally, collecting 136.84 crores. This achievement makes Adipurush the fourth film with the highest first-day collection. Despite receiving mixed responses from audiences, the film has managed to gather impressive earnings. Breaking down the collection figures, Adipurush collected 50.93 crores from the Andhra and Telangana regions, 8.57 crores from Karnataka, 2.35 crores from the Kerala-Tamil Nadu region, 48.24 crores from the rest of India, and 26.75 crores from overseas. These numbers were released by trade analysts.
Baahubali 2, RRR, and KGF 2 are the films that surpassed Adipurush in terms of collections. Adipurush is the third Prabhas-starrer film to collect 100 crores on its first day, following Baahubali 2 and Saaho. However, Shahrukh Khan’s Pathan, released in 2023, earned 106 crores on its opening day and holds a total collection of around 1000 crores. In Adipurush, Prabhas portrays the role of Sri Rama, with the script being written by Om Raut himself. Kriti Sanon plays the character of Sita, Sunny Singh Nijjar plays Laxman, and Devd.
