Vivek Agnihotri The Vaccine War Met With Mixed Reviews

Following the massive success of ‘The Kashmir Files,’ renowned filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri had high hopes for his next venture. However, his Bollywood film titled ‘The Vaccine War,’ centered around India’s battle against Covid, failed to generate significant traction. Released on September 28, the film has only managed to garner a total of approximately three crore rupees in earnings. Despite its intriguing premise depicting India’s resolute fight against the pandemic, the film faced tough competition at the box office from Pankaj Tripathi’s ‘Fukre 3’ and Raghava Lawrence’s ‘Chandramukhi 2.’

The film’s box office performance on the first three days saw earnings of Rs 85 lakh, Rs 90 lakhs, and Rs 1.50 crores respectively. In contrast, ‘Fukre 3’ raked in over 16 crores within just two days of its release, highlighting the stark difference in reception. Starring Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Nana Patekar, Reima Sen, Girija, Nivedita Bhattacharya, Saptami Gowda, and Mohan Kapur, ‘The Vaccine War’ was released in 11 languages, including Hindi, English, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Urdu. Produced jointly by Pallavi Joshi’s ‘I Am Buddha Productions’ and Abhishek Agarwal under the banner of ‘Agarwal Art,’ the film fell short of expectations, facing a lukewarm response at the box office.
