Vineeth Sreenivasan and Biju Menon’s Thankam is OUT

The National Award-winning actor Fahadh Faasil is very active in his acting career and has a number of exciting projects in development. He also works as a producer under his own label, Fahadh Faasil and Friends. The forthcoming film Thankam, which the Malik actor has created in collaboration with the illustrious production company Bhavana Studios, is now scheduled for release. Saheed Arafath, the film’s director, and Fahadh Faasil shared the official trailer on social media in advance of the movie’s release.

A middle-aged man named Muthu, played by Biju Menon, an unreliable young man, played by Vineeth Sreenivasan, and a few other main characters are the focus of the crime drama’s incredibly exciting teaser. It is clear from the trailer that Thankam is a well-designed crime story that follows the journey of “Thankam,” also known as Gold. The story of a Maharashtra police squad looking into a Mallu crime in Tamil Nadu is alluded to in the trailer. While actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan’s role appears to be richly detailed and performance-oriented, Biju Menon, who plays Muthu, is seen in yet another rooted character with shades of humor.

The National Award-winning actress Aparna Balamurali plays a crucial part as Vineeth’s character’s wife. Gireesh Kulkarni, best known for the films Dangal and Ugly, makes his South Indian film debut with this film. The Thankam trailer has significantly raised expectations for the project, which is being written and directed by Syam Pushkaram, the writer of many critically acclaimed films including Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Kumbalangi Nights, and Joji, and is being directed by newcomer Saheed Arafath.

Thankam was initially intended to feature Joju George and Fahadh Faasil as the main characters.  However, the epidemic and lockdowns caused several delays in the project. Eventually, due to their demanding shooting schedules, Fahadh and Biju were both forced to leave the movie. Later, Vineeth Sreenivasan and Biju Menon respectively took over for Fahadh Faasil and Joju George in the movie.
