Vijay Sethupathi was ready to work in Super Deluxe without taking money; OMG!

Vijay Sethupathi is one of the most praised entertainers of the entertainment world who has shown his performance through different hit Tamil and Telugu films previously. As the entertainer commends his 44th birthday celebration on the 16th of Jan, his fans have been flooding online social media with wishes. It’s undeniably true that one of the famous movies that made him a Pan India star is Netflix’s special Super Deluxe. However, very few individuals know that the entertainer needed to be a part of it regardless of whether he gets compensation for the role.

Vijay Sethupathi had opened up earlier about playing the trans woman character Shilpa, in the 2019 anthology Super Deluxe. In the candid conversation, Vijay revealed that he decided to play the character right after he read the script.

Talking about the scene that settled on him taking the decision, he said, “In one scene, my kid asks me why I was not born as a female. That scene was written so well that I decided that I don’t want to miss this film. I begged him (director Thiagarajan Kumararaja), told him that you don’t need to pay me any money. On the first day, I think it took 50-60 takes. Then finally, I realized the female inside me. I got the confidence”

Vijay Sethupathi started as a background artist prior to turning into a noticeable name in the south Indian entertainment world. He also has a few films in the Tamil language.
