Vijay says he is a big fan of Mohanlal

Tamil actor Vijay says he is still surprised that he got the chance to work with Mohanlal. Vijay says that the first thing that came up when discussing the film was District, was that if Mohanlal was playing the role of Sir Shiva, he would be in the movie. Vijay told Mathrubhumi. Acting alongside Mohanlal sir was one of the great ambitions of his life. Vijay said it has made the district a success.

I am really a fan of Lal Sar. Sir played the role of Shiv, the father of the character I played, Shakti. There was another kind of ‘district’. Purnima Bhagyaraj, wife of Lalsar, played the role. She told me that she will be returning to the camera after twenty-nine years as the heroine of her first film ‘Manjil Viranin Pookkali’.

The district was the first film in which Nesan, the assistant of the Tamil director Jayam Raja, became an independent director. When I discussed the film, the first thing I came up with was that if I play the role of Mohanlal Sir Siva, then I would be in this movie. Acting with Sarin was a huge passion in my life. That made the district effective. After the shooting of ‘Madurai’ and ‘Karaikudi’, the ‘district’ came to Chennai. A large part of the district is depicted in a palace-like set in Vadapalani, which cost more than Rs. The actors, director and technicians, including myself, were impressed by Lalzar’s performance. Director Nesan often forgot to mention the cut in that magic of Sar’s acting.

” I’ve never seen an artist like this. How quickly he becomes a character. After the cut, he became Lal Sara again. I’m really lucky. I was able to do a movie with Lazar, ” Nesan told me during the shooting.

After many years, Lal Sir made his Tamil debut in Mani Ratnam’s film ‘Iruvar’ with MGR’s life. Vijay also said that he was amazed to see these two films.
