After the blockbuster success of ‘Maanaadu’, director Venkat Prabhu is back with his new film ‘Manmatha Leelai’ and the film is scheduled to release tomorrow( April 1). A movie with a similar title ‘Manmadha Leelai’ featuring Kamal Haasan was released in 1976, and K Balachander’s executive was a super hit. The producers of 1976 ‘Manmadha Leelai’ have now moved to court to avoid Venkat Prabhu using the same title for his new film.
The last time refraining has transformed into an issue for the film. Subsequently, the creators are presently hanging tight to the court’s decision. Venkat Prabhu’s decision on the title to see whether the film faces any change or not. Prior, Venkat Prabhu’s directorial ‘Mass’ featuring Suriya in the lead role faced a title issue for its English word. The film’s title was subsequently changed to ‘Massu Engira Masilamani’.
‘Manmatha Leelai’ is allegedly about the story of a playboy after and before his wedding. The film is said to be fun and quirky and will revolve around an extra-marital affair. The film highlights Ashok Selvan, Samyukta Hegde, Riya Suman, Smruthi Venkat, and Premgi Amaren in lead roles. Premgi Amaren has likewise scored the music for the film, and interestingly, Venkat Prabhu has made a film with limited stars.
The cinematography and editing are done by Thamizh A Azhagan and Venkat Raajen respectively. The movie is produced by T. Muruganantham under the banner Rockfort Entertainment. Interestingly, the story of the film is written by director Venkat Prabhu’s assistant Manivannan.
