The long-awaited audio launch of Vijay’s Varisu took place on Saturday evening (December 24) at Chennai’s Nehru Stadium. Vijay delivered a heartfelt speech to his fans at the gala event. The cast and crew of the film were present, and the man of the moment was, of course, Vijay, whose selfie with his fans has gone viral. The audio launch will be broadcast live on SUN TV on January 1 at 6.30 pm as a New Year’s Eve special.
Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna, who is collaborating with Vijay for the first time, thanked everyone who came to the launch, saying she wanted to hug everyone and that spending time with them was the best feeling. She wrote on her social media handle, “Thank you so much for coming out to meet us… We felt your love and we wanted to give it back to you in some form and the song was one of those forms… Soon I want to at least virtually meet all of you Spending time with you all is THE best FEELING! (sic).”
Thaman composed the music for Varisu, which is his first time scoring music for a Vijay film. Ranjithame, Thee Thalapathy, Soul Of Varisu, Jimikki Ponnu, and Vaa Thalaiva are the album’s five songs. While Ranjithame (sung by Vijay and MM Manasi) and Thee Thalapathy (sung by Silambarasan TR) had already become chartbusters, Shankar Mahadevan performed Vaa Thalaiva live.
Thalapathy Vijay sang a few lines of Ranjithame on stage, much to the delight of the audience, and the audience erupted in thunderous applause. Vijay said he didn’t know how to tweet after taking a video selfie with his fans and asked his manager to share it on Twitter with the caption, “#EnNenjilKudiyirukkum (sic).” With the audio launch set to begin on New Year’s, it appears that the year will begin on a high note for Vijay fans.
