UPPSC: In this recruitment of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, 360 out of 411 vacancies remained vacant

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission declared the result of direct recruitment for 411 posts of Medical Officer Grade-2 General Surgeon under the Medical Health and Family Welfare Department on Tuesday. Selection could be done for only 51 posts. 360 posts remained vacant due to the non-availability of eligible candidates. The special thing is that all the 51 posts for which selection has been made are in the unreserved category, no eligible candidate was found for one post in the reserved category. Out of 411 posts, 338 posts are for General Surgeon and Neuro Surgeon and 73 posts are for Plastic Surgeon and Gastro Surgeon. Out of these, 62 posts were unreserved, 188 posts for Other Backward Classes, 130 posts for Scheduled Castes, 11 for Scheduled Tribes and 40 posts were reserved for candidates from economically weaker sections.

Based on the interviews held on 27th and 28th June for recruitment to these posts, only 51 candidates from the unreserved category have been declared selected. According to the commission’s deputy secretary Vivek Kumar Srivastava, the remaining 360 posts remained vacant due to the non-availability of candidates. Re-advertisement has been recommended for this. In the results released in order of merit, Devesh Sharma, Azharuddin Akash Gupta and 51 others were selected.

Now action is being prepared against the then Controller of Examinations in the case of changing the copy in the PCS-J-2022 main examination of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC). In this entire matter, the Commission believes that this has happened due to human error, due to which neither any confidentiality has been breached nor any criminal misconduct has been committed. This work was the responsibility of three such experienced women, who have been doing this work for a long time. Let us tell you that the Commission has suspended three responsible people in this matter and initiated disciplinary action against a Deputy Secretary, while a letter has been written to the government for action against a retired Assistant Review Officer.
