A protest led by the Kollam District Committee of UDF unfolded during their march to MLA KB Ganesh Kumar’s office, accusing him of being linked to a solar conspiracy. The police intervened to stop the march, resulting in a clash as activists attempted to breach the barricade. The confrontation escalated into a violent clash, even before the UDF convener could formally inaugurate the protest. Despite pleas from leaders, the activists remained agitated.
The situation intensified as activists tried to overturn police barricades, leading to a heated altercation and stone-pelting. The activists voiced their dissent against the police through slogans, prompting a lathi-charge from the law enforcement. The key demand of the march remained the resignation of KB Ganesh Kumar MLA.
