After his movie Varisu opens in theatres in January 2023, Thalapathy Vijay will start working on his next project, Thalapathy 67, which will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film will see Vijay and filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj teaming up once again after their 2021 box-office money-spinner Master. The movie began filming earlier this month with the muhurat pujah, but the producers have not yet made an official announcement. There is speculation that actress Trisha will be playing the female lead role in the movie alongside Vijay.

In a recent interview with a regional newspaper, actor Shaam, who collaborated with Vijay on “Varisu,” reportedly said that Trisha will be playing the female lead in “Thalapathy 67” and added that many of his professional acquaintances have confirmed the actress’s participation in the muhurat pujah. Shaam lavished admiration on his co-star from “Lesa Lesa,” claiming that their movie served as the actress’s launching pad for her career and that Trisha hasn’t changed since he first saw her 20 years ago. Trisha, he said, has worked hard for years to retain her lovely looks and has taken her acting career seriously. He also said that the actress’s heart is pure and that she is a very nice human being.

Trisha’s last released movie was the historic film “Ponniyin Selvan,” and she is currently in production on her next “The Road.” If the rumors about her playing the female protagonist in “Thalapathy 67” are accurate, it will be her fourth movie with Vijay, following “Ghilli,” “Thirupaachi,” “Aathi,” and “Kuruvi.” In other developments, Trish just celebrated 20 years in Tamil movies.
