There were several back-to-back releases in the first half of 2022. While some of them were well-liked by the public, others had trouble making significant money at the box office. IMDb revealed its list of the top ten movies so far in 2022 on Wednesday. Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, came in first place with an IMDb score of 8.8, followed by Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2 and The Kashmir Files, which scored 8.5 and 8.3 on the same website. The list also included RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR, Hridayam, A Thursday, Jhund, Runway 34, and Gangubai Kathiawadi, starring Samrat Prithviraj and Alia Bhatt.
- Vikram
The movie, in which Kamal Haasan plays the major role, has an 8.8 IMDb rating. Since its June 3 release, it has brought in more than Rs 300 crore nationwide.
- Chapter 2 of KGF
The movie comes in at number two on the list with an IMDb rating of 8.5. It was released in theatres on April 14 and stars Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, and Srinidhi Shetty.
- Kashmir Files
Kashmir Files, one of the films that made headlines this year, has an IMDb rating of 8.3. Anupam Kher and Darshan Kumar played key roles.
- RRR
Who hasn’t seen this S.S. Rajamouli movie? RRR, which debuted in March of this year and starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the key roles, shattered all box office records. It has an 8.0 IMDb rating.
The movie is currently ranked fifth among the most well-liked movies of the year, with an IMDb score of 8.1. Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan played the key roles.
- Samrat Prithviraj
The IMDb rating for Akshay Kumar’s movie is 7.2. Manushi Chhillar, the 2017 Miss World, made her Bollywood debut when it was launched in June of this year.
- Gangubai Kathiawadi
One of the first movies of the year to reinvigorate Bollywood was Alia Bhatt’s flick. Both the audience and the critics praised it highly. It has a 7.0 IMDb rating.
- A Thursday
An OTT platform hosted the release of the Yami Gautam and Neha Dhupia starrer earlier this year. IMDb gives it a 7.8 rating.
- Jhund
The movie starring Amitabh Bachchan was a sports biopic based on the life of Vijay Barse, the man behind the non-profit organization “Slum Soccer.” IMDb gives it a 7.4 rating.
- Runway 34
Runway 34, which now has an IMDb rating of 7.2, is another one of the best movies this year. Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, and Rakul Preet Singh played the leading roles.
IMDb has also published a new list of the top ten Indian web series so far this year. Rocket Boys came in second with an IMDb rating of 8.9, while Campus Diaries took the top spot with a score of 9. The Great Indian Murder, Rocket Boys, Panchayat, Human, Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein, Apharan, Escaype Live, Mai, and The Fame Game are among the other programmes on the list.
