For the third time in a row, Ajith collaborated with director H Vinoth on ‘Thunivu,’ which opened in theatres on January 11. The film’s FDFS went live at 1 a.m., and it received a massive response. However, according to the latest reports, Ajith’s ‘Thunviu’ show was cancelled on day one in Karur due to low occupancy. According to a news channel report, Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ did not receive the required occupancy for a show on the opening day at the Karur theatre, and the show was cancelled as a result.

When ‘Thunivu’ is on a tear at the box office in Tamil Nadu, a show for the film being cancelled in a home state theatre on its opening day hasn’t gone down well with fans. However, Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ has received an overwhelming response, with over 85% occupancy, and the film has reportedly grossed over Rs 17.5 crores on its opening day, outperforming Vijay’s ‘Varisu,’ which clashed with the film at the box office. The worldwide collection of the film is said to be around Rs 30 crores on day 1.

‘Thunivu,’ directed by H Vinoth, addresses an important message to fans, and Ajith plays a villain to deliver an impressive performance. Manju Warrier and Samuthirkani have given their all to support the film, while Mohana Sundaram steals the show as politician Mai Pa. Ajith has rocked with his style, swag, and action sequences, and the film has been enjoyed wisely by fans. Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Veera, Darshan, and Cibi Chandran among others played important roles. Ghibran’s music is outstanding, and Nirav Shah’s visuals add to the film’s grandeur.
