According to a news channel report, Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ did not receive the required occupancy for a show on the opening day at the Karur theatre, and the show was cancelled as a result.
When ‘Thunivu’ is on a tear at the box office in Tamil Nadu, a show for the film being cancelled in a home state theatre on its opening day hasn’t gone down well with fans. However, Ajith’s ‘Thunivu’ has received an overwhelming response, with over 85% occupancy, and the film has reportedly grossed over Rs 17.5 crores on its opening day, outperforming Vijay’s ‘Varisu,’ which clashed with the film at the box office. The worldwide collection of the film is said to be around Rs 30 crores on day 1.
