After the successful G20 summit in Delhi, BJP has given Prime Minister Narendra Modi a rousing welcome. For this, thousands of activists will gather at the BJP headquarters in Delhi this evening. The fact that India hosted the summit and was able to reach a consensus on the Delhi Declaration is considered a diplomatic success for India. Later, the Prime Minister will attend the BJP Central Election Committee meeting to decide the candidates for the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh assembly elections. Related sources informed that the meeting to be held today will discuss the selection of candidates for 50 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh and 35 constituencies in Chhattisgarh.
After the meeting held on August 16, candidates were announced for 39 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh and 21 constituencies in Chhattisgarh. BJP announced its candidates for the seats where there are no sitting MLAs. Madhya Pradesh has 230 assembly seats and Chhattisgarh has 90 seats. BJP National President JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh are the other members of the committee. This is the first time that the BJP has announced the list of candidates before the Election Commission announces the election. The move is seen as an attempt to avoid conflict and resolve issues within the party ahead of elections in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram. The elections in all the five states are judged as semi-finals ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP’s defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections this year was a big shock.
