A man has been arrested for spreading morphed photos of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media and making obscene remarks. The youth was arrested in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. The arrested person is 28-year-old Parvez Alam.

A case has been registered against him under various sections. Sartaj had lodged a complaint against Parvez Alam on July 12. The complaint alleges that Parvez spread morphed images of the Prime Minister on Facebook and made obscene comments.

Golpur Inspector Ravindra Gautam said the case was registered and the accused was arrested. Parvez was arrested on Friday night. Police said the accused, who was produced in court, was remanded in judicial custody.

Parvez has been charged under sections 292 of the Indian Penal Code (sale of pornographic books, etc.), 504 (insult with intent to incite peace) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act (publishing or sharing pornographic material).
