Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar set to lock horns at the box office

The two most well-known actors in Tamil cinema, Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar, have always been compared to one another by both their supporters and movie buffs. Although they are fierce adversaries on the big screen, Vijay and Ajith are close friends in real life. There hasn’t been a significant box-office confrontation between the two top Kollywood stars in a very long time. With the upcoming releases of Ajith Kumar’s heist thriller Thunivu and Thalapathy Vijay’s family comedy Varisu, this might soon change.

According to the most recent rumors, both Varisu and Thunivu are expected to be the Pongal special releases of 2023. According to the most recent information, the movie starring Thalapathy Vijay would be released in theatres on January 11, 2023. The movie starring Ajith Kumar, on the other hand, is scheduled to hit theatres on January 12, 2023. If everything goes according to plan, January 2023 could see one of the largest box office battles in the history of the Tamil cinema industry. The creators of Varisu and Thunivu haven’t formally announced the release dates yet, though.

Thalapathy Vijay and acclaimed Telugu filmmaker Vamsi Paidipally work together for the first time on the lighthearted family comedy Varisu. The eagerly anticipated film will also be the acclaimed star’s first-ever direct endeavour in the Telugu film sector. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female protagonist in Varisu, which is simultaneously produced in Tamil and Telugu. According to reports, the much-anticipated movie centers on the lives of a happy-go-lucky youth who is forced to take over his father’s vast business empire due to a series of unfortunate events.

Following the commercial triumphs of Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai, Ajith Kumar’s third film with filmmaker H Vinoth is Thunivu, which is billed as a robbery thriller. Ajith plays a grey-shaded character in the movie, which is based on a real-life bank heist scenario, according to reports.
