Chennai : A City based Engineer, Sooraj Surendran has come with an unique Low Cost Electronic Control Unit for Electric Wheelchair that would help the Electric Wheelchair users. The Project is aiming to reduce the overall cost in Electric Wheelchair manufacturing industry of India
Sooraj Said that , This Electronic Control Unit [ECU], is PWM driven and has an interface of smart phone with an optional joystick support. This will be helpful for those who needed customized Electric wheelchair , as Android application is having inbuilt all user interface buttons in it.
Sooraj has an wide experience in Electric Wheelchair design and its Electronic Control Developments. He has been invited for Low cost Electric Wheelchair Electronic Control System design for Tamilnadu Electronic Wheelchair Project , 2000 Wheelchair distribution.There he Suggested for Lithium Battery role in drive range increase in Electric Wheelchair design and that pilot project was tested with Lithium Battery. From the previous version , he interfaced android system in current version. His talents are very helpful for developing E-Mobility Vehicles. This ECU can work with 2 Combination , one is with two 12V,24AH Valve Regulated Lead Acid Battery [VRLA] and second with Lithium Battery.
He is an alumus of Anna University and also built an unique Smart Electronic Control Unit for Nursing Care Bed. This can work with Wall Socket Adaptor and has an additional option for Battery Back up for Emergency Situation.
