Sivakarthikeyan has filed a case against ‘Mr. Local’ producers for his compensations to be received for the film. Sivakarthikeyan played the lead role in the rom-com ‘Mr.Local’, which was directed by M Rajesh. The 2019 release didn’t work well at the box office. The producers have allegedly kept pending Sivakarthikeyan’s compensation for the film. Along these lines, Sivakarthikeyan has moved the Madras High Court blaming maker Gnanavel Raja for Studio Green Films.
In the objection, Sivakarthikeyan has expressed that he has just gotten Rs 11 crore from his actual promise of Rs 15 crore for ‘Mr.Local’. Likewise, the TDS for ₹11 cr is additionally not remitted by Studio Green to the government. Along these lines, he mentioned the court to stop the maker’s present movies which are under creation until he pays his compensation for ‘Mr.Local’. The Judge, who heard the case, has suspended the case for the following hearing on March 31.
As per the actor, the producers had made an agreement on July 6, 2018, for playing the lead role in Mr. Local. His remuneration was fixed to be ₹15 crores to be paid at different levels with the last of ₹1 crore to be paid before the release of the movie. Though the movie got released on May 17, 2019, the producer had paid only ₹11 crores by then and the balance of ₹4 crores remained unpaid. The balance payments did not come by despite repeated reminders. The actor also received a notice from the Income Tax Department on February 1 this year.
‘Mr.Local’ highlights Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara in lead jobs, and it got blended surveys.
