Famous singer Kalyani Menon (80) has passed away. He had been undergoing treatment in Chennai for a few days following his paralysis. Kalyani started her career as a classical singer in the 1970s and started her career as a film singer. She entered the film music industry in 1973 by singing in Thoppil Bhasi’s Abala. She made her Tamil debut in 1979 with Sivaji Ganesan’s Good Family.Singer-Kalyani-Menon-has-passed-away .

Popular songs include Ritu Bhedakalpana, Thalirampili on the water bed, and Pavanarachezhuthunnu. He worked with musician AR Rahman in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Singing songs composed by AR Rahman in movies like Alaipayuthey, Muthu and Kathalan became a super hit in Tamil Nadu. The song ‘Kathale .. Kathale’ from Vijay Sethupathi’s 96 movies which was released in 2018 was finally sung for the movie. He is the winner of the Kalai Mamani Award of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Kalyani Menon is the mother of cinematographer and director Rajeev Menon.
