Silambarsan TR charged no fees for Vijay’s Varisu

Varisu, one of Vijay’s most anticipated films, is gearing up for the biggest festive release on Pongal/ Sankranthi. On Saturday, the producers hosted an extravagant pre-release event attended by the cast and crew as well as thousands of fans. Everything about the event became the talk of the town, from Vijay’s speech to live music by Thaman and Anirudh was loved. Another intriguing aspect of Varisu is that Silambarsan TR has not to charge any fees for his part in the movie.

Simbu 2

Silambarsan TR, who sang Varisu’s second single, ‘Thee Thalapathy,’ as well as lent his voice to the film, has not been paid. Yes, there is no compensation. The multifaceted Tamil star made this grand gesture for Vijay and music composer S Thaman.

Thalapathy Vijay revealed this exciting piece of news at the audio launch, which made fans even more fond of him. Simbu’s gesture also moved the actor, who said as much at the event. Vijay also thanked Silambarasan TR for singing the tribute song Thee Thalapathy. “Simbu, Simbu, Simbu, I am really touched, and thank you so much,” Vijay said. He later sang Ranjithame and wished his fans in the style of the song Ranjithame.

Varisu, directed by Vamshi Paidipally, stars Rashmika Mandanna opposite Vijay, with Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Khushbu, Sangeetha, Yogi Babu, and Samyuktha supporting. Varisu, produced by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, is set to hit theatres on January 12th, competing with Ajith Kumar’s Thunivu.

After the pandemic, several celebrities in the film industry have worked for free in major star-driven films out of love and respect. Salman Khan, Suriya, and Thalapathy Vijay are a few examples.
