It is known that the actor Silambarasan TR had moved the Madras High Court to quash/stay the proceedings against him following the registration of two criminal cases by police over a controversial ‘beep song’ in 2015, allegedly containing vulgar lyrics denigrating women.
The case took place for more than six years and Silambarasan filed a petition in the high court to exempt him from the summons sent for him to appear in person for the trial. The Chennai High Court has at last suppressed the case against Maanaadu actor Simbu in the ‘Beep song’ case expressing the that Coimbatore court request report has no proof in the grievance against Simbu.
Prior, Simbu had submitted that some unknown third party, with an ulterior motive, transmitted the soundtrack with interpolated words, without his knowledge and consent in the electronic media, which is nothing but the interference of his right to privacy.
The case enrolled by the Coimbatore police against the actor was closed with a hearing yesterday and the appointed authority dismissed it for the absence of proof against him.
Simbu was last seen in Maanaadu a time loop movie along with SJ Suryah. Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu by his fans, has reportedly signed a film with director Ram. It will be the actor’s 50th project in the industry. The news has already created a buzz on social media. The upcoming venture will be produced by Suresh Kamatchi. He has previously backed Simbu’s Maanaadu. Simbu is currently working on his next film Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon.
