Sayanora Philip, one of the famous Malayalam singers, has revealed that she has been discriminated against on the basis of color. Sayanora made the revelation in an interview with Cinema Pranthan, a film online promotion group. Sayanora says she has experienced color-changing from a young age.
Reshmi Satheesh and Pushpavati are not seen in any of the big stage shows. The singer says that she should never judge anyone by her color. She said it was time for us to change that attitude. Sayanora also revealed that this discrimination exists not only in the arts but in all fields.
Sayanora Kuttan, who has sung in Malayalam and Tamil, made her Malayalam directorial debut with Pillai’s Shivarathri. Sayonara made her Malayalam film debut 16 years ago with a song from Priyadarshan’s Vettam.
Sayanora was born in Kannur. She did her schooling in St. Teresa’s Anglo Indian Girls High School and is a professional degree holder from S. N. College, Kannur. She was appreciated for her singing abilities. She participated in many singing competitions during her school days and won many prizes. Currently, she lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
