Shakuntalam, Dev Mohan’s epic love story, will shortly unveil its first look poster. During a brief interactive session on Instagram, producer Neelima Guna said that the “Shakuntalam” cast has been holding out for exciting news to be revealed. The producers of the next mythological movie will soon unveil an exclusive poster featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Shakuntala and Dev Mohan in the role of Dushyanta, Shakuntala’s love interest.
The most well-known work of Kalidasa is Abhijinana Shakuntalam, which has been presented as a ballet, a play, and in a variety of other formats, according to Neelima Guna, who also provided more information on how Shakuntalam is being reimagined for today’s youth.
“We wanted to make it interesting to millennials, with interesting backdrops, beautiful canvas, and relatable emotions. It was a challenge by itself”, Neelima Guna explained.
The epic love story of Shakuntala and Dushyanta, which is an adaption of the Mahabharata’s “Aadi Parva,” serves as the basis for the film Shakuntalam.

Shakuntala was the daughter of Meneka and Rishi Vishwamitra, according to Hindu mythology. Together with her guru, Rishi Kanva, she resided in a jungle. She meets King Dushyant in the forest, falls in love with him, and the two eventually get married. Dushyant abandons her in the forest after she gives birth to their child (later known as King Bharat), promising to return for her shortly. However, as a result of a sage’s curse, Dushyant completely forgets about Shakuntala until fate reunites them.
