Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s Shaakuntalam First Look Poster Released

The famous actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has shared the film look poster for her upcoming film, Shakuntalam on her official Instagram account. She subtitled her post, “Presenting…Nature’s beloved.. the Ethereal and Demure… Shakuntala from #Shaakuntalam.”

In the banner, Samantha is found in the backwoods and animals and birds sitting beside her. She is sitting on a stone with a pitcher close to her. She is wearing a white blouse and white saree, wearing jewelry made of flowers.

As her Hindu folklore, Shakuntala was the little girl of Meneka and Rishi Vishwamitra. She lived in the woods with her teacher, Rishi Kanva. In the woods, she meets King Dushyant, experiences passionate feelings for him and the two get married. After she has their child (who later becomes King Bharat), Dushyant leaves her in the forest with a promise to come back for her soon. However, due to a sage’s curse, Dushyant forgets all about Shakuntala, until destiny brings them together again.

Shakuntalam is directed by Gunasekhar and produced by Neelima Guna. Gunasekhar is most popular for his epic period movie Rudhramadevi with Anushka Shetty. Shakuntalam will be released in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.

While Samantha Ruth Prabhu will play Shakuntala, actor Dev Mohan will be found in the job of lord Dushyanta. Dev Mohan made his debut in the 2020 Malayalam film Sufiyum Sujatayum alongwith Jayasurya and Aditi Rao Hydari. The film likewise denotes the introduction of Pushpa star Allu Arjun’s girl Allu Arha. Allu Arha will assume the part of Prince Bharata in Shaakuntalam.
