The district collectors have issued an order regarding the conditions for opening business establishments in connection with the Onam season as per the government instructions. These guidelines apply only to areas other than the Containment Zone. Existing restrictions in the Containment Zones will continue.

Businesses in areas other than the Containment Zone may be open from 7 am to 9 pm until September 2. Institutional owners should take steps to adapt people according to the size of the organization, keeping in mind the social distance of individuals within and around the institution.

Ensure that people maintain social distance and that Kovid wears safety equipment in accordance with the 19 standards. The number of persons who can enter the establishment at the same time including the employees should be determined according to the area of ​​the establishment.

The number of people who can enter the establishment at the same time should be displayed on the outside of the establishment and the excess customers should maintain a social distance outside the establishment, for which the establishment owner should mark the lines or circles.

The owner of the establishment should ensure that the sanitizer and other facilities required by the customers are available.

Businesses should be more encouraged to make online payments.

Consumers should be encouraged to take advantage of the home delivery system.

Non-business entities (such as banks and insurance companies) can operate at 50% capacity.

Travel should be avoided in connection with the Onam celebrations.

Onam celebrations in public places and the hustle and bustle associated with Onam should be completely avoided.

Flowers imported from other states should be completely excluded from flower arrangements and flower beds should be made with locally available flowers.

Hotels and restaurants can follow Kovid’s guidelines until 9 p.m. Residential areas must be disinfected before each new occupant arrives. Employees of these institutions are required to undergo Kovid tests at regular intervals. The Department of Health will issue special guidelines in this regard.

All restaurants must be properly inspected by food safety officers/health inspectors.

Violators of these orders and violators of the COVID 19 Extension Protocol will be prosecuted under Kerala Epidemic Diseases Ordinance 2020, Disaster Management Act 2005, Sections 188, and 269 of the IPC.

The District Police Chief, District Medical Officer (Health), Local Government Heads, Revenue Officers, District Fire Officer, Manager District Industrial Officer and District Labor Officer have been directed to take necessary steps to ensure that the institutions operate under these regulations.
