RRB Recruitment 2024, RRB’s ALP recruitment increased to 18799

RRB ALP Recruitment 2024: There is great news for the applicants of Railway Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment (RRB ALP Recruitment). The Railway Recruitment Board has increased the number of loco pilot vacancies released in January 2024 by more than three times. Now the number of posts in the recruitment of Railway Assistant Loco Pilot has increased from 5696 to 18799. The revised official notification of recruitment will be issued within a week, which will contain the increased number of posts zone wise and category wise. The Railway Recruitment Board has also directed all the zones of RRB to give the candidates an opportunity to revise the choice again after the vacancy increases. This means that now the candidates will get a chance to revise their preference in their form.

RRB ALP recruitment exam is proposed from June to August. Know the selection process and exam pattern here

– The selection process will consist of these stages – 1. First Stage CBT (Computer Based Test), 2. Second Stage CBT, 3. Computer Based Aptitude Test and 4. Document Verification.

For recruitment to ALP posts, two-stage exams (First Stage CBT and Second Stage CBT) will be common. Only those candidates who are successful in the First Stage CBT will be called for the Second Stage CBT. After passing the Second Stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (AT) will have to be given.

Negative Marking 
There will be negative marking in both the first and second stages. One-third marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. There will be no negative marking in the Computer Based Aptitude Test.

How will the first stage CBT be?
The first stage computer based written test will be of 1 hour in which 75 questions will be asked. To qualify the exam unreserved category candidates need to score 40%, OBC candidates 30%, SC 30% and ST candidates 25% marks. You have to get minimum marks in this test else you will be stopped here and you will not be able to participate in the further process. In this, you will be asked questions related to Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/ Current Affairs.

How will the second stage CBT be?
Candidates who qualify the first stage exam will be able to sit for the second stage. This exam will be of 2 hours 30 minutes. The paper will be divided into two parts. Part A and Part B.

Part A:
The time duration for Part A is 90 minutes and it will have 100 questions. To qualify this, unreserved category candidates need to score 40%, OBC candidates need to score 30%, SC candidates need to score 30% and ST candidates need to score 25%. In Part A, questions related to Maths, Reasoning, General Science, GK/Current Affairs will be asked. 

Part B
There will be 1 hour to write Part B. The total number of questions in it will be 75. To qualify Part B, candidates of all categories will have to score 35% marks. Part B will contain questions from the trade syllabus. 

Third stage:
Candidates who perform well in Part A of the second stage and qualify in Part B will be called for this. In this stage, candidates from all categories will have to score at least 42 marks, there will be no relaxation of any kind.

– The last step will be document verification.
