RJ Balaji to play a hair stylist in the film with Gokul

In the movie Singapore Saloon, which is being Directed by Gokul, RJ Balaji is now playing the lead role. While he has so far acted as the lead in three movies, he also served as the writer (LKG) or writer-director (Mookuthi Amman and Veetla Vishesham) in all of them. By the time he completed Veetla Vishesham last year, he wanted to act in other directors’ films as he was curious to see what they could do with me as an actor. Also, since he was writing scripts for himself, he was doing it knowing his limitations and working around them.

When he received the invitation to be a part of Gokul’s film, he confesses that he had really committed to acting in another movie—a thriller—for a production company. he received a call from Lokesh Kanagaraj asking if he would be willing to listen to a narration from Gokul during the second lockdown. If he liked the script, he said he’d direct the movie himself. He met Gokul that night since Lokesh is a dear friend of mine. He had only ever met him once before, and that was when he appeared on my radio programme to promote his debut movie, Idharkuthaane Aasaipattai Balakumara.

When it comes to narrating a movie, Gokul is among the greatest in the business. Balaji enjoyed the writing and laughed the entire time he was narrating. But Balaji also felt like he needed to put in more effort if he wanted to do the character well.

Balaji says the film will be a comedy-drama in Gokul’s style and describes it as “a coming-of-age story of a young man with aspirations” He also mentioned that he got trained under hair stylists for 1.5 months to play the character of a hairstylist in the movie, as suggested by the title.
