ceremony. Joju was awarded National (Special Mention) for his performance in the film Joseph.

Meanwhile, director of the film Sudani from Nigeria, Zakaria, screenwriter Mohsin Parari, producer and actress
Savitri Sreedharan abstained from the National Film Award ceremony in protest of the Citizenship Amendment Act
and the National Citizenship Register.
Joju was awarded the National Award for his performance in the film Joseph. Suresh won the Best Actress award
for his movie ‘Mahanadi’. His father Suresh Kumar, mother Menaka and sister Revathy Suresh were also present.
