Rakul Preet Singh, who was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate regarding the drugs and money-laundering case, was spoken harshly to the ED office in Hyderabad. We had before announced how a few entertainers and celebraties from the South film world were called and given various dates to show up before the workplace for addressing. This Tollywood drug case has shaken the south film totally.
ED gathered not a couple but rather twelve Tollywood big names specifically Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Ravi Teja, Charmme Kaur, and director Puri Jagannadh among others regarding 4-year-old drug trafficking and consumption case. For the unversed, ED obviously has mentioned Director Puri Jagannadh to share his financial exchanges from the 2015 monetary year to date. He showed up before the ED and surprisingly presented every one of the reports.
We also got to know that actor-turned-producer Charmme Kaur recently appeared before the Enforcement Directorate. And apparently, she was questioned by the officers for nearly five hours. Officials are reportedly examining her bank accounts too for any suspicious transactions. Meanwhile, the accused drug dealer and supplier Calvin Mascarenhas was recently questioned by the ED officials regarding the same, and all his bank transactions were collected too by the Enforcement Directorate.
Based on the data collected from the excise department, SIT officials along with ED have registered a money laundering case and are investigating the case. No charge sheets were filed against any actor due to lack of evidence. As per reports, the racket was busted on July 2, 2017, when customs officials arrested Calvin Mascarenhas, a musician, and two others. They seized drugs worth Rs 30 lakh from them.
On the work front, Rakul will be next seen in Doctor G with Ayushmann Khurrana. The film will be helmed by Anubhuti Kashyap.
