Rajamouli’s RRR won the awards once again

It will be 2023, and SS Rajamouli’s masterpiece RRR’s brilliance won’t be slowing down any time soon. The historical drama has received numerous prestigious accolades from around the world. RRR has now won not one but three awards at the Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Annual Awards, continuing its winning streak.

The Philadelphia Film Critics Circle Annual Awards presented three prizes to RRR: Best Foreign Language Film, Best Cinematography, and Best Score/Soundtrack. The official Twitter handle of RRR expressed their happiness and wrote, “Thank you @PhilaFCC for awarding us with 3 Trophies!! #RRRForOscars #RRRMovie.”

At the Critics Choice Awards 2023, RRR had already received five nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director for SS Rajamouli, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Visual Effects, and Best Song for “Naatu Naatu.” The movie has received two nominations for the prestigious Golden Globe Awards, which is another accolade for it. Both the Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu and Best Non-English Language Film categories have been nominated for the film.

RRR was also recognized by the Atlanta Film Critics Circle as the “Best International Picture.” The renowned Hollywood Critics Association Spotlight Award was also won by RRR. With two back-to-back western honors, everyone is eagerly anticipating learning if RRR will be included in the Oscars 2023 nominations. Awards are anticipated to be revealed on January 24 and the illustrious ceremony is to be held on March 12 of the following year.

For the uninitiated, RRR’s producers opted to take another shot by joining the ‘For Your Consideration’ campaign for the Academy Award nominations, even though the film was initially passed over to represent India as the nation’s official entry to the Oscars. The big-budget film has been nominated for 14 awards, including Best Motion Picture, Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Actor in a lead role (Ram Charan and Jr NTR), and more.
