Rajamouli Says That Two Films Inspired Him To Make RRR

Rajamouli said that two classic films inspired him to make R.R.R. He added that he was surprised to see those pictures. He said these things in an interview given to The New Yorker. The classic films that inspired Rajamouli are the Telugu film Mayabazaar and Mel Gibson starred Braveheart.

In earlier and later plays and films based on mythology, the characters were either gods or ancient people, so the language of print was spoken. English is like Shakespeare’s language. But Mayabazar spoke modern Telugu. Rajamouli said that he was surprised to see the courage of the director of that film to do so.

It was a big inspiration for me when I made RRR, a purely fictional story with characters based on real people. My confidence to build RRR came from Mayabazar. Rajamouli clarified.
