Priyadarshan gets Birthday wishes from buddy Mohanlal

Priyadarshan, the veteran filmmaker, is 66 today, and well wishes are coming in from all directions. Priyadarshan’s dearest buddy, Superstar Mohanlal, has conveyed his best wishes on the momentous occasion. Mohanlal resorted to social media to share a flashback photo with the caption, “Happy Birthday Dear Priyan.” The throwback photo was taken while Priyadarshan was directing Mohanlal for their hit film ‘Thenmavinkombathu,’ which was released in 1994.

Priyadarshan is one of India’s most well-known filmmakers. He has built a name for himself in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi films during the course of his four-decade career. Among others who have benefited from the gifted filmmaker’s guidance are Mohanlal, Nedumudi Venu, KPAC Lalitha, Revathi, Shobana, Jagathy Sreekumar, Lissy, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Kareena Kapoor.

Priyadarshan has given Mohanlal some of his career’s best flicks. Their friendship dates back to before the advent of film. Mohanlal and Priyadarshan were college classmates who initially worked together on ‘Thiranottam,’ in which the former acted and the latter was an assistant director. ‘Mazha Peyyunnu Maddalam Kottunnu,’ ‘Vellanakalude Nadu,’ ‘Chithram,’ ‘Vandanam,’ ‘Kilukkam,’ ‘Mithunam,’ ‘Thenmavin Kombath,’ ‘Kalapaani,’ and ‘Marakkar: Arabikkadalinte Simham’ are among their best works.

Priyadarshan is currently working on his forthcoming Malayalam film ‘Corona Papers’. He is also directing Mohanlal for a part in the anthology based on the stories of prolific writer MT Vasudevan Nair.

In Bollywood, Priyandarshan has enjoyed working with Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn immensely. Although he has not worked with both actors in recent years. Priyan has more or less shifted back to Malayalam cinema since Ranggrezz in 2013.
