Prithviraj believes that SRK’s Pathaan will change Bollywood’s bad phase

The Covid epidemic has significantly altered Bollywood’s situation. The Hindi cinema industry unquestionably ruled the roost in the pre-Covid period by releasing back-to-back blockbusters. Now, the playing field has been leveled by films from the South. Prithviraj Sukumaran believes that all will change after just one movie, though. He believed that Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan may usher in better times for Bollywood.

SRK’s most recent film was 2018’s Zero. At the box office, the movie was an abject failure. The actor will now make a triumphant return in YRF’s Pathaan. The audience is thrilled that SRK is making a comeback after four years. Expectations are very high because the SRK and YRF combination has never disappointed. Will it ignite the box office? Well, Prithviraj Sukumaran is quite optimistic about it!

It’s just a bad era for Bollywood, according to Prithviraj Sukumaran, and nothing more. He believes that Bollywood needs just one major movie to turn the tide, and Pathaan by Shah Rukh Khan can be that movie. After that, the focus of the story will change completely.

In an interview, Prithviraj Sukumaran said, “There have been times not too long ago when we’ve set down the table & thought, ‘How are they (Bollywood) doing it? How is Hindi cinema cracking this? How are they able to open up such huge overseas markets?’ And that was not too long ago. I am not talking about the medieval ages. So, this I truly believe is a phase. There will be one big hit, maybe it’s Pathaan.” He added, “It could just be one big film followed by another big film and the whole narrative will change.”

John Abraham and Deepika Padukone are also featured in Pathaan. Release day is set for January 25, 2023.
