Prithviraj and Nayanthara starrer ‘Gold’ will be shot once again

Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara starrer Gold is one of the most-awaited upcoming films of Mollywood. Gold is a comedy thriller and marks ‘Premam’ director Alphonse Puthren’s return to direction after a long gap of almost 7 years. Gold was expected to hit the theatres for Onam 2022. However, the release of Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara’s film has been postponed due to various reasons.

Now the director Alphonse Puthren and the production team are not satisfied with some scenes of Gold and have decided to do a reshoot. As per rumors, this is the actual reason behind the delay of the project. Director Alphonse mentioned that the post-production of the film is taking longer than expected. He did not mention any specific reason for the delay. As per the latest updates, the director and his team re-shot some scenes of the film in Dubai in a 2-days-long schedule. Prithviraj Sukumaran, the hero of the film was also a part of the Dubai schedule.

The makers are waiting for the dates of other stars in the film, which includes Nayanthara, to complete the rest of the shoot. Gold might not release in the theatres this year. The post-production might take a few more months for releasing the movie. The makers will share an official update on the release of the film only after the re-shoot is done.

Gold is the first onscreen collaboration of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Nayanthara, and director Alphonse Puthren. The movie has Prithviraj in the role of ‘Danger’ Joshy, while Nayanthara is playing the role of Sumangali Unnikrishnan. More than 60 plus prominent stars of Malayalam and Tamil cinema, play important roles in the movie. The film’s music is composed by Rajesh Murugesan. The highly anticipated project is produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen under the banners of Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames. The movie will be released in Malayalam and Tamil.
