Powerstar Puneeth Rajkumar’s first film complete 20 years- Know more

Puneeth Rajkumar, one of the most loved actors of his age, was the son of Kannada film icon Rajkumar. He is affectionately known as Appu by a huge number of fans and friends everywhere, except did you at any point ask why? Also, how could he acquire the most adored moniker which is so near individuals of Kannada? It’s with his debut film Appu. Indeed, In 2002, director Puri Jagannadh launched him in his masala film ‘Appu’. 20 years ago, Puneeth Rajkumar’s debut film Appu was released. It also marks the two decades of Kannada cinema icon Puneeth Rajkumar aka Appu. The entertainer had such a colossal effect on the crowd that till today he is recognized as Appu more than his own name. The film was a superhit and it finished a 200-day run in the theater. Playing the archetypal college lad gave him the screen picture of a swank heartfelt hero.

Helmed by Puri Jagannadh, Appu was also the first film of actress Rakshitha as a female lead in a Kannada film. It was dubbed in Telugu and Tamil. The film was bankrolled by Puneeth’s mom, Parvathamma under Poornima Enterprises, the creation banner of the Rajkumar family. The film was dubbed in Telugu in 2002 as Idiot, in Tamil in 2003 as Dum, in Bengali in 2006 as Hero, and in Bangladeshi Bengali in 2008 as Priya Amar Priya.

Puneeth Rajkumar died at 46 due to a heart attack. The Powerstar bid his farewell to the dingy excursion with his last film James, which was released in March and turned into a blockbuster hit. Helmed by Chethan, the film was the ideal treat for fans yearning to watch their Appu engage them one final time on the big screen.
