Pinarayi Vijayan Heartfelt Birthday Wishes To Comrade VS On His 100th Year

Chief Minister  has expressed his heartfelt birthday wishes to former Chief Minister and CPM stalwart, Comrade VS Achuthanandan, as he marks his 100th year. In his message, Pinarayi Vijayan acknowledged Comrade VS’s integral role in the evolution of modern Kerala and his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the working masses.

Comrade VS Achuthanandan’s life is intricately intertwined with the dynamic history of Kerala’s transformation. His significant contributions, alongside other leaders like him, in shaping the Kerala we know today, are beyond dispute. Even before the formation of the united Kerala state, Comrade VS spearheaded formidable struggles against oppression, monarchy, nepotism, and imperialism. Post-unification, his involvement in popular movements, representation of the people, leadership of the opposition, and service as the Chief Minister have left an indelible mark on Kerala’s political landscape. Throughout his illustrious career, VS has remained a steadfast advocate for the oppressed, standing shoulder to shoulder with the hardworking masses.

Pinarayi Vijayan Comrade VS Achuthanandan’s political journey began at the tender age of 17 in 1940 when he joined the Undivided Communist Party. He played a pivotal role in the formation and growth of the CPI(M), elevating it to a prominent political force. In 1964, during the schism in the Communist Party, Comrade VS was the sole surviving leader among the 32 members who departed the National Council to establish the CPI(M). Over the years, he ascended to become the state secretary and a member of the politburo of the CPI(M).
