Pakistan has blocked the Chinese video-sharing app Tik Tok. The Pakistan Telecommunications Authority of Pakistan (TRAI) has blocked Tik Tok following the attention paid to pornographic videos. The lawsuit alleges that the company failed to comply with government directives. The authority has received numerous complaints from various quarters about the spread of pornographic videos on Tic Tac Toe. According to Pakistani media reports, Tik Tok was blocked following the incident. In addition to the block, the authority has also sent a notice to Tik Tok asking for an explanation.
A statement from the Telecom Authority of Pakistan (PTA) said, “We have issued a notice to Tik Tok seeking clarification on the complaint from various parts of the country.” The statement added that the government had given time to respond to the questions in the notice and act in accordance with the instructions.
At the same time, Tick Tock has been facing a major crisis worldwide since the beginning of 2020. Tick tock has already been banned in India, the United States, and Australia. This was followed by Pakistan blocking Tick Tock following the government’s failure to comply with the directives.
